ELISA GENTILE ‘s latest project was created during a Masterclass with the Arts of Fashion Foundation in Paris, France. Designers were given a theme and design challenge while learning alongside artisans from Chanel’s Maison Lemaire, Maison Lognon & Maison Lesage.
During this one month program, designers created two silhouettes following stories from “Les Fables de La Fontaine.” This collection of fables share themes of human nature; inspiring the work that was created.
These designs were inspired by the fable, The Hen Who Laid Golden Eggs. The story follows themes of destruction, abundance, rebirth and greed. The techniques and design details chosen enhance these themes and recreate the story in an artistic way.
The garments focus on fabric manipulation, embroidery, beading, pleating and draping. These couture pieces embody Elisa Gentile’s learning and transformative creative direction.
